How to Use New Thought Seed Thoughts

The sermons presented through New Thought Seed Thoughts are written in conversational style (not in outline form) and can be used as a straight script if that is your desire. However, that was not my intention. My intention in providing you with the full script is to show you how I fleshed out ideas so that your own creative thoughts and inspirations are stimulated. Take what I have done and use it as an impetus for your own work. Perhaps one concept sends you into an entirely new direction. Run with it! When this happens, New Thought Seed Thoughts will have served its purpose.

Now here are a few particulars:

As you know, personal stories and experiences are very powerful teaching tools, and I use them frequently. To help distinguish my own experiences from the rest of the text, making it easy for you to distinguish them, I have colored all of them in red. I opted to leave them in simply as examples for you. So, share stories and examples from your life and the life of your congregation at these points in the talks or anywhere else they feel appropriate. Or, if sharing mine will benefit you in any way, feel free to do so.

Whenever I share a story or quote I cite the author/book or source if I know it. I have even shared page numbers from books so that you can refer to them should you wish to put the writing in context. Some of the quotes and stories I share, however, I received on the Internet or from friends, and they came without attribution. So, if you see a story or quote that I did not attribute or that I attributed incorrectly and you know the correct information, I would love to know.

Regarding attribution of passages from The Science of Mind textbook, I often use the shorthand “SOM.”

In a few instances, I have used enough out of a particular book that copying it verbatim within the sermon would violate copyright law and ethics. When that is the case, I have given you the book, page and paragraphs from which the information came, so that you can find it easily should you want to use it.

If there is a particular activity that will be a part of the month, I have noted it in the theme description.
