2011 Theme - The Bible: The Ultimate Guidebook
When was the
last time you looked at the Bible as a guidebook for living? This
month, we will explore some well-known, and some not-so-well-known,
parables and passages from the Bible that speak volumes about our
relationship with God and the Universe and provide us with some
very powerful guidance for living. Come this month and become reacquainted
(or perhaps acquainted!) with the sacred writings contained in the
Holy Bible.

1 – “Coming Home”
According to author Ervin Seale, the parable of the Prodigal Son
is “. . . a jewel of the Bible and of literature. It is outstanding
from any point of view.” Today we explore this “jewel”
and apply its powerful guidance directly to our lives.

2 - “The Song of Renewal”
Last week, we looked at perhaps the most well-known parable in the
New Testament, The Prodigal Son. This week, we look at perhaps the
most well-known, oft quoted and beloved chapter in the Old Testament
– the 23rd Psalm, which could be subtitled “the song
of renewal.” Today we will be renewed.

3 - “The Pearl of Great Price and Other Hidden Treasures”
Jesus once said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant
seeking good pearls and when he had found one pearl of great price,
he went and sold everything he had, and bought it.” These
words have often been used to confirm the idea that materiality
and spirituality cannot co-exist. But a deeper look into them and
other scripture suggest a very different story.

4 – “Being Fertile Ground”
A farmer tosses seeds to the ground and some seeds are received
by fertile ground and others are not. So does God “broadcast”
Divine Seeds of Truth to us. The question is -- are our hearts fertile
ground to receive them? Using Jesus’ parable of the sower
of the seed, we will explore levels of our own consciousness and
examine our own receptivity to God’s broadcasts.
May Talk 5 - “The Protecting Presence”
We take our final look at the Bible as our Ultimate Guidebook as
we explore the ultimate promise – that we are loved beyond
measure and protected at all times.
Affirmation:
As
I live in harmony with the Divine, I am guided, I am loved and I
am protected. As I come home to Myself, I live with ease, openness
and joy.
